Crosslight offers one-to-one budget coaching for those who have completed the Money Course and would like some additional help with getting to grips with their money.

Budget Coaches cannot give debt advice. Click here if you need help with your debts.

One of our Budget Coaches will get in touch with you directly to talk about your situation and to arrange a suitable time for an initial meeting.

Take the one-week spending challenge

Before you see your Budget Coach, try and write down absolutely everything you spend in one week, whether it be online, in cash, or blipping your contactless card. You could carry a piece of paper in your wallet or handbag, or use the notes function on your mobile phone, to jot down everything at the point you spend it, so you don't forget anything.

What is Budget Coaching?

Every situation is different and the exact extent of our assistance will depend on your personal circumstances. However, we will usually follow the steps below when supporting you;

  • After you have attended one of our Money Courses, your Budget Coach will start by seeking to understand your personal situation

  • We will then decide together what kind of support you would like and how many coaching sessions we will be to able provide

  • We will review your income and spending with you and help you to create a realistic budget that meets your essential living costs

  • We will talk about your spending priorities and encourage you to set some savings goals for the future

  • We will discuss together ways to help you live within your budget and make savings

  • We will encourage you to explore new ways of managing your money, such as ‘Piggy Banking’, which will give you more confidence day-to-day
