Run the Money Course

The Money Course is a simple, effective budgeting course designed to equip you with the tools you need to get on top of your finances.

Your church, community group or organisation can access all the Money Course resources and run the course for your own groups.

Become a Support Church

If you are within the catchment area of our existing branches, you may wish to become a Support Church.

A Crosslight support church will recognise financial education and well-being as one of your core ministries. Building partnerships and encouraging congregations to think about financial education as a ministry is the first step to becoming involved and supporting the work of Crosslight. It allows the support church to play a key role in becoming the vital link between someone who is in debt, and them accessing the professional help and advice that they need.

SUPPORT CHURCH

What’s Involved

  • Partnering with an existing branch to support the provision of debt advice in the local area

  • Working with us to establish a ‘satellite’ for a local branch where appointments happen at your church premises

  • Encouraging congregation members to train to become volunteer advisers with Crosslight so they can support clients through your church

  • Supporting an existing branch financially

  • Promoting the work of Crosslight in your church and online for example through your website, notice boards, social media and bulletins/newsletters

  • Circulate the Crosslight newsletter and publications amongst your congregation and display posters and leaflets describing our work so supporters and potential clients can get in touch

  • Identify ‘ambassadors’ within your church who will champion the work of Crosslight.

 Support Church

Your Commitment

To provide space and equipment for appointments.

To encourage congregation members to become volunteers.

To support an existing Branch financially.

To encourage referrals into our service for anyone in need.

Join with Crosslight to open a Branch

Partnering with Crosslight to open a new Crosslight Branch based in your church will allow your ministry to have the biggest impact through your congregation and local community.

Each of our branches are wholly owned and run by Crosslight. However, they are run in close partnership with the churches which support them, without which they would not exist. At heart, Crosslight and our church partners share the common aim that the work of the local branch shall be an integral part of the local church and reflects the needs to the local community which it serves. The desire is for the clients of Crosslight to see the local church as the ‘centre of gravity’ for the help they receive.

 Open a Branch

What’s Involved

  • Commitment to working towards opening a Crosslight branch

  • The church (or church entity) will sign an agreement with Crosslight which will detail the responsibilities of both parties

  • The church recruits a staff member and/or identifies a core volunteer team who are willing to be trained to become Crosslight advisers

Open a Branch

Your Commitment

An agreement will be signed between Crosslight and the supporting Church. This clearly lays out what is expected of both parties. In summary, the partner church supports the branch with the following:

  • The leadership and desire to make debt advice part of the core ministry of the church

  • Funding the local Branch (the main cost would be if staff were recruited to run the branch) and contributing to central costs

  • Building a volunteer team of advisers

  • Organising office space & suitably equipped appointment rooms
