Get Ready
Once you have booked an appointment, please follow the four simple steps below to get yourself ready.
Step 1
Make sure you understand the terms of our service and what we can and can’t do.
Please note that our phone calls and client appointments are recorded. We also use generative AI to create transcripts and summaries of appointments and calls for our case records. You can find out more in our Privacy Policy.
Step 2
For debt advice appointments: There are a number of possible routes out of debt, and some important things you need to be aware of when seeking debt advice - for example the impact on your credit report, home or job.
For budget coaching appointments: Make sure you’ve completed your one-week spending tracker and have recorded everything you’ve spent this week
Step 3
Telephone or Online Appointments
Make sure you have a quiet place for you to speak to us
You might find it easier to use a set of headphones if you have them
For telephone appointments, we will phone you on the number you have given us. If you are having an online video call, we will have sent you details to log-in to the call.
Face-to-face Appointments
Please arrive in good time for your appointment - we may not be able to see you if you arrive late
Please do not attend your appointment if you have a communicable illness
If you can no longer attend your appointment in person, and you let us know in advance, we may be able to change your appointment to a telephone or video appointment instead
Need directions to your appointment?
Step 4
It’s really important to bring all your paperwork to your appointment, including benefit letters, rent statement, wage slips, bank statements, bills, letters from your creditors.
If you are having an appointment on the phone or online, you can send your paperwork to us beforehand. Use your phone to take a photo of the document/s (remember to photograph both sides if necessary), and email them to us at appointments@crosslightadvice.org.
